Magical Powers

All Humans, Vishaal and Jotunn in the world of Ostara have a naturally energy that radiates from their bodies and through them; Od. This spiritual energy can be harnessed and controlled to enhance the natural abilities of their bodies. On top of this if taught at a young age, one can learn to properly control their Od and convert it into their Manus.
The type of manus a person has is largely dependent on genetics but is not always the case. Manus is the conversion of one's od into whatever power that person holds within them. Manus is broken down into 4 main schools: Alteration Manus, Conjuring Manus, Destruction Manus, and Mystic Manus. Finally there is a fifth school that is entirely unique to the Jotunn and Vishaal species, Berserker Manus.
A Human who can utilize manus effectively in combat and has received proper training is called a Magi.
Vis is the demonic counterpart to Od. It is used in the same way as Od, to fuel one's manus. However Vis is volatile in nature, far more dangerous to utilize and near impossible to control by humans. Many demons have natural abilities that are very similar to manus but vis their fuel for these powers.
There's a variant of any manus ability used by humans called Chaos Manus. Chaos Manus is any form of manus used by a magi but instead of using only Od, the magi utilizes Vis on its own or in conjunction with Od as the fuel for their manus. Chaos is much more powerful and nearly seems to have a will of its own. Chaos Manus is extremely dangerous for a magi to use and can easily backfire on the wielder.
