The Surapo

Your entry into the opera house is blocked by two burly Knight-Exalts. They push you backward, but not before you can sneak a look inside at their wards. Two humans in silk robes are on their feet arguing with a seated elf wearing her traditional family robe. You recognize the humans by the glyph tattoo over their lower lip and chin- the Surapo!

Structure

The Surapo are a council, loosely led by an internally elected Surapo Magos Primarch and advised by an Eccleciarch from among those nominated by the High Priests of the various religions but chosen by the Surapo themselves.

Public Agenda

To rule Jantocar, experiment and innovate, and to leisurely live out their lives.

Assets

Unimaginable wealth, the universal loyalty of the The Knights of the Crimson Covenant, and the control of the city

History

Originally a loose coalition of disgruntled archmages who sought to break from the rigid traditions of the Baronsreign, they hoarded might and private armies until they could topple Baron Grayson and the Baronsguard and install their own rulership.

Currency
Talents, gold coins. One side is engraved with the seal of the city, the other with the Sign of the Zodiac of when it was minted. Very few reputable people accept a Talent of the Serpent. One Talent is worth twenty Moons, silver coins with a shiny crescent embossed on both side over a darkened area of silver. One Moon is worth ten Bells, little shells of bronze shaped like Chantry Bells with no engraving. Above those are the Crowns, orichalcum chips shaped like eight-point stars. Only the Surapo have Crowns. Or so they claim.
Legislative Body
The Surapo vote, with a simple majority being enough to make a majority of decisions but revision of said decisions and matters that deal with themselves or the The Knights of the Crimson Covenant requiring two-thirds.
