Treaty of Peaceful Alliance

The Treaty of Peaceful Alliance is an official document that was drafted by the Aldmeri in 0107 F.E. and was signed by every monarch of that time. The treaty was incredibly important to establishing peace across the continent and would continue to be a very important document to this very day.   Prior to 0107 F.E., the world was in turmoil. The separate kingdoms were each going through their own troubles, and this would often cause them to be hostile to other kingdoms. The Aldmeri suffered the brunt of this, as they controlled the most land, and they were also in the center of the continent. This meant that if kingdoms from opposing sides of the continent went to war, the Aldmeri would have to host that war on their own territory. This was not ideal for anyone, and it was very clear that something had to be done, otherwise the world could very well fall into chaos. Thus, the Treaty of Peaceful Alliance was drafted.    This treaty outlined the various concerns that the Aldmeri had observed for each kingdom, both of what the Aldmeri could see from an outsider's prospective, and what those kingdoms had outwardly expressed. It also highlighted the need for a peaceful continent, as failure to establish such a place would likely destroy the very land that they stood on, and the Aldmeri would be the first to go. The other monarchs agreed with this, and they found the terms of the treaty to be reasonable and fair, after some negotiations, of course. After only a few days the document was ratified, and all current conflicts were settled.    Peace was not guaranteed because of this document, of course, but it went a very long way to ensuring that the kingdoms treated war as a last resort. There were several times throughout history, particularly recent history, where tensions between kingdoms were rising, and war seemed inevitable. However, war did not break out, though some battles were fought in one-off skirmishes from time to time. Even still, the peace that the treaty was able to provide was nothing short of miraculous.
