A grand event held on Tyr by House Sondeheim to celebrate the completion of the planets Terraforming.

The newly terraformed world of Tyr welcomed tens of thousands of guests for a major party, hosted in the capital, Luxor City. House Sondeheim, working in close conjunction with the Tyr colonial legislature, had pulled out all the stops, with the hospitality at the highest levels. Street corners were adorned in House Sondehiem’s Red and Black livery, with pennants flying above most of the major buildings in the city. The Tyrian military were also out in force, with marine patrols across the city and regiments in full dress unfirom standing by at key locations. Invites had gone out to the best and brightest of the Republic and the turnout saw a “Whose who” of the Republic show up to take part in the festivities and to socialize and politic.   Lord Elbar Sondeheim made only one appearance near the beginning of the festivities, with the remaining hosting duties taken by Senator Elizabeth Sondeheim  (TYR) who was the diligent host to the event. Secretary of Defence Beckett Solarin (IND) arrived with a few members of his entourage, including several defence department officials. Most prominent of these was National Security Adviser Major General Lucius Corvo and his son, young Tiberius Corvo.   Margrave Alexander Ashpool made a big splash, arriving in a state of the art Ashenmark warship and attending by his “Paladins”, elite troops assigned to guard the elites of the Ashenmark. Senator Swofford (VAL), his wife, was also there.   Governor Stravik Elazar (RHC) was a controversial guest, though Senator Sondeheim spent a great deal of time talking to him. Governor Elazar refrained from any political statements but there was palpable tension every time the Governor and Margrave were in the same space.   Martian CEO Cotyar Gravmont (IND), along with his son and heir, Halliday Gravmont, made a splash with their opulent dress sense. Halliday Gravmont, known for his commercial acumen, was also there on a social endeavor as his father had long remarked on his son and heir’s bachelor status.   Another big corporate CEO was Solomon Brahms (LBR), CEO of Tanit, the New Carthage based corporation. Mr Brahms spent a big part of his first day speaking to Margrave Ashpool, his business partner in Tanit.   Senator Morse Cutbill (ISO) was a welcome appearance and was greeted warmly by Senator Sondeheim. There were remarks that Senator Cutbill had lost some weight, apparently as a result of a diet he had been put on by his doctor. Seen alongside him was his son, Captain August Cutbill, on a leave of duty from his role in the Republic Navy. There was a small delegation from Vanheim, including Secretary of Labor (and expected successor to Caesron Fife) Parvinder Morrow (FV). She was the clear leader of the delegation, despite the attendance of both of Frelsi Vanheim’s senators.   Another corporate figure was Price Knottman-Grumman, the newly named CEO of FORGE, he and his wife, Dahlia Grumman-Knottman , made a very telegenic couple and drew a lot of press attention.   Representative Pierce Moreland (VAL) was part of a delegation of Valiant members, including Senator Everett Inkerman and Royce Sickles. Senator Sickles made a point of bi-partisanship and spoke at length with Price Knottman and others but Senator Inkerman pointedly refused at one point to speak to the Knottman’s.   Rep Moreland was also willing to talk to almost anyone and able to talk politics, history or business.   Former Governor and nominee for Vice President Crawford Navarro (VE) was part of a large Vishnu Elpis delegation. Crawford made a splash, followed everywhere he went by a swirl of small robotic butterflies coloured in VE purple. Also a part of Navarro’s team was his brother and the former heir to House Navarro, corporate insider Aston Navarro. A senior executive at Allied West, he spoke at great length with Pierce Moreland and Price Knottman.   Senator Roddick Dutton (ISO) was also present but claimed to be there “as the Chef and caterer”. Big Hoss Farming was providing the catering and hospitality of the festival and was generally felt to have done a good job, though Beckett Solarin was said to remark that “this food is not bad for Frontier food.”   Princess Emersyn Krane (IND) also made a rare appearance, looking frail but still striking, her silver hair up in a bun above her thin features. The entourage from House Valane also made a big impression, with Princess Kalisto Valane (VE) and her husband and consort, Hyle Ward, leading a large and well dressed Valane entourage. Kallisto Valane avoided talking politics and spent a large amount of her time talking to the Solarins and Sondeheims.   Foreign Secretary Reiner Grumman (GUR) also made a big impression, arriving with most of the members of House Grumman. The popular former Senator and nominee for President was greeted with a massive amount of press attention, though his appearance did attract some jeers on one street corner. Secretary Grumman spoke to almost everyone in attendance and made the rounds. He also spoke with an attending Tranoan Priest, talking up the skill of the Tranoan engineers who had helped with the terraforming on Tyr.   Attending to represent the President was Vice President Campbell Corrigan (SDP), attending with his senior staff and his security detail. Corrigan, who also drew some jeers from and even an attempt to throw a paint-bomb, was in good spirits and did the rounds, though he spent the longest time talking to Crawford Navarro & Hyle Ward.   The festival was also attended by a horde of press and media darlings, with Charlotte Grumman hosting a live event for the entire festival, which attracted hundreds of millions of views and was one of the most successful media shows of the month.   Cypress Park played a very popular set, attracting around 25,000 people to the Wellspring Park in Luxor City and Tiberius Corvo was also seen enjoying the music.   There were a few eye-raising moments, such as a toast by Rep Caius Navorech (VAL) to “The true strength of the Republic, its people in spite of the incompetence of their government.”   Defence Secretary Beckett Solarin was also seen to get into a heated conversation with Senator Cutbill, though the two were later seen laughing and playing cards together.   Heir to House Sondeheim, Aurelian Sondehiem, also made a scene, wagering ten thousand adjusted dollars to a group of youngsters if any of them could beat him in a foot race across the dunes, a race that he did indeed win.   Halliday Gravmont was seen getting very cosy with Eveline Schott, the heiress to the Schott fortune, though their security detail shooed the press away before any serious footage was taken.   Security guards for the Ashpool delegation also caused a scene when they confiscated the equipment of a journalist representing “Terra Firma”. When the stringer for the group tried to remonstrate, he was knocked to the ground by a Paladin, who referred to him as “Gutter press”. All in all though, the festival passed positively, with the guests speaking of the excellent trip to Tyr and impressed with the change to the biosphere of the formerly inhospitable planet and hailing the achievements of the scions of House Sondeheim.
