Funeral of Former President Noah Averssen

Former President Noah Averssen (SDP) has passed away after a long illness. The Earth-born former lawyer, judge and writer was President of the Republic from 2530 to 2540. His funeral was held in Copenhagen and was very widely attended, though current President Xavier Inkerman did not attend, citing his preference not to inflame political tensions   The News was overshadowed with Vice President MyAnna Wolf (VAL) talking to more moderate members of the Senate in an attempt to stop their planned constitutional amendment. Several veteran politicians and constitutional scholars have called for cooler heads and negotiation to end the current constitutional crisis, warning that the current crisis runs the risk of creating permanent political rifts and perhaps even bringing on a collapse of the Republic
