Garta-Xabrok

This title is given to the highest priest of the Anubian culture. The Garta-Xabrok is the direct communicator to the Anubian gods, the cultural guide to all of his people, and the mediator of cerimonial and political events for both Anubians and Tabalix.

Duties

  • If a local Shakaar's bloodline ends: it is the Garta-Xabrok's duty to oversee the public vote appointment of the new Sahkaar. During this time, the Xabrok may receive word from the divines on who to appoint as the new Sahkaar. If he does, he has the authority to over-rule the public vote and personally appoint the next Sahkaar himself.
  • In a time of unification in Tabaal: the Garta-Xabrok is the sole authority capable of bestowing upon someone the title of Pharaoh; save for when there is already a Pharaoh who is passing his title on to his chosen son/daughter.

Responsibilities

The Garta-Xabrok is responsible for conveying messages from the gods to the High Priests of the Anubian who then spread the word to the other Anubians - he also spreads the word to the Tabalix priests as well, who spread it to the Tabalix. As well as this, the Xabrok is also responsible for making sure the traditions and culture expectations of the Anubians are upheld - by both Anubian and Tabalix alike. Lastly, the Xabrok is also responsible for training the next Garta-Xabrok.

Cultural Significance

The Garta-Xabrok is the single-most important title to the Anubian people, and much of that importance has been imparted onto the Tabalix as well, making this priestly position universally the most important figure in all of Tabaal.
