Storming of Halamare (Kalivgrad)

While the Human Rebellion surged across the Velvet Coast under Alerio’s command, a parallel operation led by Artur Prager targeted the strategic city of Halamare. Known in the modern era as Kalivgrad, this crucial port in Novaya was liberated in a swift and decisive action that underscored the multi-pronged nature of the Human offensive. Though overshadowed by larger battles, the Storming of Halamare played a vital role in stabilizing rebel positions and extending their influence throughout the North.

The Conflict

Prelude

Following victories such as the Battle of the Red Ford, the main rebel force advanced deeper into the Velvet Coast. Sensing an opportunity to strike at Elven-aligned cities in Novaya, Artur Prager—Alerio’s trusted comrade from Holz—led a contingent of Holzen infantry and cavalry on a secondary thrust aimed at halting Elven resupply efforts. Halamare, perched at a key river junction and known for its abundant farmlands, presented a prime target for subduing Elven authority in the region. The city’s populace included large numbers of enslaved workers forced into agricultural production, an ideal rallying point for further recruitment to the rebel cause.
