The Stranger
It is unknown what role of the Gods The Stranger is responsible for.
No known sighting of them exist, and no known aliases for them exist either. Some say they appear as a black cloaked figure, others say they appear as a simple wanderer, the most unassuming guise one could take, others say they have no form, and that they're simply a myth.
The Stranger is theorised by some as the supposed leader of The Externals, a direct agent of The Dark Matron to ensure her soldiers follow their tasks. Perhaps her lieutenant from the The First Revolution or some other well trusted second in command.
Other theorise that The Stranger's domain is death, appearing at scenes of devastation to ensure those who are meant to pass, pass, and those who are meant to survive find the help they need. Some expand on this theory and claim The Stranger is not a physical entity like the rest of the Externals, but rather a roaming spirit, comforting those in the moment of their death before the Psychopomps can arrive to carry their soul to The Boneyard. Perhaps when everyone dies they see the same face, The Stranger looking them in the eye and gently explaining how they've died and what comes next, perhaps they see a hooded spectre in the corner of their eye in the hours before their passing.
Regardless, The Stranger fits their name as the rest of The Externals do. An enigmatic mysterious figure, that is strange to all. No matter the many theories and supposed truths, it is likely that, in order to keep their name true, The Stranger will remain a mystery.
