Hood
Hood is the name given to the enigmatic spectral figure that haunts and grants power to Tamyrlin Whistlegrace.
Named due to the shape the shadows form around what seems to be his head, Hood first appeared to Tamyrlin Whistlegrace hovering over his former teacher Mr Sticks. Hood would taunt Tam, telling him they would play a great game and that Hood would observe as Tam "snatched lives away from him".
Hood would not be seen for nearly a decade, only appearing again at the death of Sticks. Tam would try to expel the spirit, send it back to wherever it came from but it would not go. He placed a spectral hand upon the brow of Tam, burning five points of cold into him, he declared that Tam could never win, but he was now the main player of this game.
Hood went silent from this point, the only proof of his and Tam's connection the powers that Tam continued to develop. This would continue until Tam was visited by a guard in Castle Amath, who dropped dead upon arrival and Hood pulled himself from the corpse. Hood spoke in riddles to Tam, claiming that he had been a God and that he could foresee the future. He said that what Tam was searching for would break rock and bone, earth and stone, and that death was coming. Before his riddles could be answered he disappeared once again.
Hood would next appear aboard The Delusions of Grandeur, lecturing Tam along with Dolga Grimm and Aurel, claiming that they had been brought into the game when Tam enlisted them to help revive his fallen allies. Hood spoke to Dolga directly, calling him 'brother' claiming their origins differed but their progenitors were the same.
Hood would continue to appear to Dolga, questioning him in a similar way he did to Tam in the past, asking him why he kept people from death. Hood would refer to 'permanent death' returning, something from The Void coming back or emerging.
Despite his repeat appearances, Hood remains a mysterious figure, speaking only in riddles known to him. The spectre clearly has some link to death, but what he could mean by that is unknown to all but him.
