Alphaeus

Alphaeus is the first layer of the nine hells ruled by Meilru, The Warrior.
An endless battlefield, Alphaeus is the front line of the blood war. A continent sized battle eternally being restocked with the infinite horde of Demons held back by the perfect formations of the Devil armies.
The landscape of Alphaeus is scarred and broken. Much of the ground is hard and cracked allowing jets of magma to burst forth and cover the land in rivers of lava. The parts of the land that aren't covered in this molten rock are often pockmarked by scenes of destruction, rubble and weapons strewn across vast ancient battlefields that have not seen war in milennia.
Despite being an inhospitable wasteland the layer does hold some permenant residents. The armies of hell need a marshalling place and do so in Blackstone Keep. An imposing structure which holds the majority of hells army. Many smaller forts and castles exist across the plane ruled by Meilru's personal Archdukes. They are the first line of defence for any who wish to invade the plane and are often quickly replaced if they allow even a single demon beyond their borders.
