Abraham Gillis
Abraham Gillis is a Human banker from Trezzo, Anhalo.
It's a common saying among the citizens of Trezzo that Abraham Gillis is richer than the gods, and its debatable how true this is. The owner of several banking chains, there's very little gold in The Dawn Empire that hasn't touched the palms of Abraham Gillis.
Gillis got his start in life already raised above the common person, to say he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth would be to drastically overestimate the price of silver, or even gold. Gillis comes from a long line of bankers and financiers, his many times great grandfather having been the original treasurer of The Dawn Empire, back when Ennius I was ruling and the Empire was still a Kingdom. It is this legacy that has allowed the family to continuously build their fortune and amass greater and greater wealth as the generations went by.
Abraham Gillis continues this capitalist tradition and has drastically expanded his fiefdom, buying out other banking families in increasingly hostile takeovers. Gillis' crimes and hostile business tactics are well known, but the man is nigh untouchable and arguably too essential to the economy of the Empire to ever remove. Killing him would perhaps be the only solution, but Gillis is spiteful enough to have contingencies in place to plunge the economy into freefall should anything negative befall him.
His criminal contacts don't only extend to those in the banking world, but also more classic crime, having been the main source of finance for The Red Ivys, run by his nephew Vincenzo Waltz. This foray into common crime however didn't suit Gillis, fearing the sins of his nephew were too closely linked to his own, he ordered the removal of all Red Ivys, and leaked the location of his nephew to The Abnormals, hoping they would remove the stain on his bloodline for him.
This small blip on his record aside, Gillis remains untouchable and incredibly wealthy, deciding to continue his banking empire and his criminal dealings, although going back to ensuring they are through several layers of proxies this time.
