Leechpool Building / Landmark in Orcerta | World Anvil

Leechpool

The commonly named "leechpool" is, as the name suggests, a place filled with leeches.
While normally no one would enter such a location out of their free will, many sick avians do to get treated for Cavination.

The building is located on the outskirts of the Kinini Settlement.
It covers a wide area and consists of 10 rooms:
  • 3 rooms for treating Cavination
  • 2 Rooms for a variety of other medical treatments
  • 2 Breeding rooms to nurture and raise more leeches
  • 1 Research room
  • 1 Staff room
  • 1 Restroom

Cavination Treating Rooms

Treating room have four pools, each filled with roughly 200 Liters water and a group of Leeches ranging from 10-50 specimen. People usually spend one to four hours in those pools until they get out again and the leeches are removed.
All resulting wounds are treated by applying a soothing mixture of herbs and Levils extract.

Univeral Treatment Rooms

People can come to the doctors and report their symptoms, get a diagnosis and subsequently get either medicine or another treatment.

Leech Breeding Rooms

Here they breed leeches, raise them and try to improve their ability to treat cavination while also researching ways to use them for other diseases.

Research Rooms

The research rooms were formerly only used to research the use of leeches but their fields broadened with the rising amount of researchers and doctors working at the leechpool

Purpose / Function

It was first build to treat people who were affected by Cavination but it soon became a place for many sick people who seek an - often unorthodox but effective - treatment.
It specialises in bone diseases but it's interests broadened with time and a few researchers settled there to find new ways to treat diseases.

Tourism

A few curious people visit the leechpool to just awe at the - what some may call "gross" - way of treating a very dangerous disease.
