Currency - Squam
Squam is the currency used in Orcerta, every race uses it to trade with each other. Slight variations may occur.
Each capital city prints its own coins, all share the octogonal shape.
All coins are minted with the respective sigil of the city it was made in and have a respective colouring.
Both, copper and silver coins are coloured by working finely ground F-Rank Saxum into them.
Gold coins, on the other hand, are much rarer, not only because they are made out of gold, but mostly because they are coloured by incorporating ground E-Rank Saxum into them. The fineness of the powder disables coins from being used as catalysators to cast Signum, learned arcane users can use the faint remaining Signum to trace back the city of origin. That way, even if lost in the wild, a trained arcane user can find back to the city they have a gold coin of.
