Affinity & Complement

TAKEN WITH A GRAIN OF SALT, NEEDS MINOR REWORKS AND MAYOR CONTENT HAS TO BE ADDED
Affinity and complement are determined by the amount of Saxum in a person's body, it is not possible to have multiple affinities. The mineral most present in the body is called "affinity". The natural counterpart is called "complement".   Example:
If the most common element in a body is fire saxum, fire is its affinity. The natural balance makes water the complementary element.
For this purpose, the so-called "Colour Wheel of Magic" was developed. On this, affinity and complement are opposite.

Effect of affinities

The affinity determines characteristics which, depending on the type, have different conspicuousness.

  • Fire - The person's body temperature is higher
  • Water - The person's body temperature is lower
  • Nature - Animals are drawn to these people.
  • Electric - These people have a strong sense of direction.
  • Power - People are unusually heavy or light, and have a higher physical strength without it being apparent.
  • Arcane - These people learn quickly and have a good memory.
  • Flux - The dexterity of these people is very pronounced.
  • Music - These people are extremely empathic.
  • Hexes - Other persons are drawn to these people.
  • Necromancy - These people have a longer life expectancy.

Affinity affecting learning

while it is generally possible to learn any type of Signum, there is a hurdle to overcome.   A person's affinity is easier to learn for them, as is the complement. However, the further a type of Signum is from affinity, the harder it is for a person to learn that type of Signum.   Example:
A person with fire affinity will learn Fire Signum most easily, closely followed by Water Signum. But the hardest thing for this person will be to learn about Power and Flux.

I love the effects of the affinities! I would suggest you decide on either heavy or light as the effect of power. I think you might be going for a very heavy child and a very light big hulking dude, but having the variance is a tad confusing. It's interesting you went for what I would consider to be opposites as complements. Nature and Necromancy, Fire and Water in specific. What was the thought behind having an easier time learning what is essentially a counter? On the whole a very intriguing system, well done!
