Verdant Steppes

A great central region on the far-east of the Situla Continent. A temperate land in which the species known as Demons first thrived.

Geography

Borders

The White Wastes extend along the northern edge of the Verdant Steppes, making a transition from open steppes to icy wastelands. To the North-West the Fana Forest provides a natural boundary with dense woodlands. From the South West begin the sheer cliffs plunging into the swamps of the Gorge of Deloth. The West is home to the Baltath Hills, a defensible spread of high ground extending between the Fana Forest and the Gorge. South-West is where sits the Lunt Range, the impregnable mountainous homeland of the Lunt Kingdom. The continent-spanning rainforest of Carsil forms a half circle along the southern border of the Steppes, with the forest extending broadly along this edge all the way to the sea. A portion of the Undying Ocean seperates the Feral Isles from the Steppes with a craggy eastern coast as well as the Running Isles by the north-eastern shores.

Topography

The Verdant Steppes owes its name to the vast expanses of plains and arid steppes that form most of its territory, but the land can be split into regions depending on their unique caracteristics The Ebenos Ridge is located to the East, near the coast. It is a volcanic range whose fertile slopes and precious mineral deposits strengthened the Empire.

Fauna & Flora

The land is cold, and not very fertile when too far from water sources. However, predators abound among the tall grass and the endless steppes. The few forests that punctuate the steppes are filled to the brim with dangers.

Natural Resources

Many kinds of herbs grow in the steppes, and the monsters are plentiful and never run out. Leathers, dyes, and clay are the resources most available.
