Session 79: When Last We Met 4/28/24

General Summary

When last we met, the party licked their wounds from the previous battle and were struck by the notion that they had completely defeated the Volim clan. They revel for a moment in their victory and take a rest in a spare room in the castle. They awaken the next morning and explore the upper part of the castle to find a treasure horde. Having had their fill of riches they take only essential items and half the gold leaving the rest behind. 

From there, their paladins bid farewell to the party. Saving the universe and freeing a country sated their appetite for adventure and Isolde and Arcturus retire to Her village Moroz to live in peace and tranquility. After their parting, the  party board Romaia's ship to sail for Darkolz. On the water, They witness a large ship being pulled beneath the water by.... something. After witnessing that, they press on in the hopes of outrunning whatever that was. The following day they are boarded by some deformed creature calling itself Urgu. A herald of a being known as Hresh, The Mistress beneath the waves. It demanded tribute for safe passage over the waters. The party give up some gold and valuables which are deemed acceptable and the rest of their journey goes smoothly. They arrive back to Darkolz and immediately make for the Dormition palace. 
Their arrival is met by hugs and gentle jabs from the Dormition children who greet them at the door. They meet with lady Svetlana and relay news of the destruction of the Volim Clan and layout terms for their  expansion and implementation of a mechanical workforce to revolutionize their industry. Svetlana promises they will get the country well in hand and gives the party Mechanical horses as a gesture of thanks and good faith. Leading their new mounts through the city, the party is stopped by a well dressed gentleman who asks if they found any intersting items belonging to Artjem Volim. How he knew of their interactions with Artjem are unknown to them and they coldly refuse to interact with him. He says that if they come across anything, the order of the perpetual shroud would love to hear about it and hands them a calling card. 
From there, the party departs Volgot buying passage on a ship bound for Auldsod and make the long journey at sea. Finally, after about 4 months abroad, The party sets foot back on their home turf to great relief and joy. The party mount up on their new mechanical horses and make a bee line for their home of Maplevale Manor. They ride for a day before returning to the doorstep of where they started their journey and head inside. And that's where we'll pick up next time!
