Session 62: When Last We Met 12/17/23

General Summary

When last we met,  The party were inquiring about lodging for the night at the Weary Falcon when they were approached by two well dressed twin brothers who introduced themselves as Kulikov and Kadin. They remarked how strong the players looked and offered them work with The Sisters of Salvation. They said they could bring them before their boss, Lord Zinoviy and he could offer them work. The party accepts their offer and the following day are brought to the Dormition Palace (after much delay by the Twins). 
They are brought before Zinoviy who regards the twins with utter contempt and throw them out of his office immediately. However, hearing of the exploits of the party, decides to hear them out and offer them a Job. They are tasked with taking up precious cargo up to the north to the Tsao-Kun Tribes as a peace offering. The road there is quite dangerous requiring the particular skills of the party. The party accepts and are introduced to the other employees of the Sisters of Salvation who will be accompanying them. A cast of characters as colorful and as Vandread figured from his ocular pat down, Just as strong as they.
They set off aboard two carriages pulled by metal horse constructs and make thier way north. along the way the party spies a Gargantuan bird known as a Roc make its home on the peak of a mountain. Eventually, their road takes them along the shadow of the Mountain known as Yambui. Believed to be cursed and haunted, a sign on the road offers travelers advice on what not to do along the road including picking up hitchikers or staring at the forest for too long. 
Midway through the woods, The horses pulling their carriages break down. After about an hour of no activity, Dima, One of their traveling companions hops off the carriage to try and assess the issue. He is then seemingly enthralled by something out in the woods which he keeps talking to. He begins slowly walking toward the treeline but the party intervenes as Tensi traps him in a Thorn whip and pulls him back to the carraige. Vandread attempts to pull the Elven gentleman back into the cart fully but finds a creature holding his foot back. A number of these creatures attack the carraiges and a battle ensues, where they are joined by this 10 foot creature with a skull for a head. 
The creatures seem to emanate auras of cold and decay which affects the party. But the party eventually best them. With Tensi dealing the killing blow on the large creature. Quiet returns to the dark and desolate forest road as the body bursts into flames. And that's where we'll pick up next time!

Dima - Male Elf. He and his much more serious sister are a pair of sellswords working for the Sisters of Salvation. He and his siter seem to be rogues of some kind. 
Olim - Female Elf. She and her goofy brother work for the Sisters of Salvation. She and her brother seem to be rogues of some kind. 
Oorlog - Male Goliath. Working for the S.o.S. Seems to be a Barabarian of some kind
Ostera - Female Human - Working for the S.o.S. Seems to be a spellcaster of some sort. 
Kraal - Male Human - Leading this mercenary group. Seems to be a fighter of some kind. Strong and intimidating.
