Session 60 - When Last We Met 12/3/23

General Summary

When last we met, the party were standing in the main entry of their manor hearing the tale of a gnome that had taken up residence in their home. He explained he was escaping slavers from the country of volgot. At this Mistral reveals his sordid past with the governing family of that country. And from there, the party agree to help Caoimhe the gnome rid him of his pursuers. They head down to Mount Cashell where they are greeted by a huge fanfare from the populace. Celebrating them and their victory over the forces of darkness.
They quickly find Francois who escorts them to the City council where even more praise and accolades are heaped upon the party. They offer to grant the party one request whatever they would like. The party decide to think on this and get back to the council, To which they agree. After that Vandread disguises himself as the gnome as they search around the city for leads. In the Red Flask Boarding house, the party instead comes across a lost firbolg academic who asks the party help him reach the Abraxios Academy. The party reluctantly say they will assist him.. The next morning.
They wait out their time at the tavern and head upstairs for a long rest. The following morning they find wanted posters for Caoimhe posted up all around the city. They take one and find a little old lady who informs them that the gentleman who put those posters up has left for Tirasa. The group take a shortcut and talk to their Firbolg Friend and request he teleport them there. Miraculously he teleports the party to the exact spot without incident and thanks them for their assistance.
Soon after investigating Tirasa, They come across an elven gentleman named Mikkel who says he is looking for their gnome. He becomes insistent that he be brought to justice immediately. As they depart, they notice his companion or pet he's walking with. This pitiful looking goblinoid creature drops a note asking for help. The party decide they need to deal with this bastard immediatley. They follow him stealthily as he makes his way around the city making inquiries.
Eventually they follow him to the Lady's Brand Tavern where he retires to his room for the night. The party follow up to the second floor and Mistral goes into gaseous form and enters Mikkel's room, Triggering an alarm spell that was set on the door. Mikkel is alerted and his Companion Zwai, Turns out to be a decent spellcaster turning Mistral back into his Genasi form. Combat breaks out as the rest of the party catch up to the action just in time to see Mistral Throw a dagger into Mikkel's heart and Zwai turn renegade and blow up their whole room Killing Mikkel in the process. Zwai then casts invisbility on himself and makes an escape as the party are arrested by the Laminae guards for murder.
They are brought to the guard barracks and In their interrogation, the Laminae Seer informs them that Mikkel was known to them and was being investigated by them and they blew the guard's only lead on the slave ring in Volgot. Because of this, The party is tasked with going to Volgot themselves and rooting out these slavers. The party agree and are set free in secret. Their first stop before departing is to try and track down this creature known as Zwai. Celeste manages to catch a fleeting glimpse of his footprints and follow them out in to the Guilewoods. They eventually come upon him sitting outside Ukko's hut talking to the dwarf himself.
The party approach and after a brief interaction, Zwai begins speaking in Goblin with ukko Translating. He apologizes for his attack on the party, he was going off instinct to protect his master. And he thanks the party for helping him deal with him once and for all.

The little guy goes on to give more insight into the geography and alliances within the country of Volgot. Giving the party further intelligence into the matter and even more of a reason to head there and stop this group known as the Sisters of Salvation.
And that's where we'll pick up next time.
