Session 51: When Last We Met 9/17/23
General Summary
When last we met, the party had made it back to Tirasa and breathed a sigh of relief after the hell they had been through in the previous days. They did some shopping and gathered up some supplies here and there as they had come into a bit of money recently. They had lunch with Sebastian and learned a great deal more about demons and summoning them. After sleeping the night just outside of Tirasa, They awoke the next morning to Maleeka knocking on the door of their instant fortress She relayed to the party that the Headmistress of the Abraxios academy would like a word with them.
They arrive to Calder's Office and are greeted by the Headmistress, a dark elf woman named Saraeris. Who thanks them for their acquisition of Tomes belonging to Mordenkainen. As a token of appreciation, the party are given an academic Endowment of 2,000gp for their efforts. Saraeris considers them friends and fellows of the academy and will gladlly offer more financial compensation for other magical artifacts they come across on their journeys.
From there, they teleport to Mount Cashell to check on the state of the place since the attack. There they find Inspector Francois who walks them over to the city council building to have a word with the governing body. As they walk, Francois says that because of their heroics in rescuing the city as well as his sister, he is dropping any investigations and pending charges he had for the party. Wiping the slate clean on their criminal misgivings within the city. He gives them a stern warning that any crimes they commit from here on out is out of his hands.
They arrive at the city council and are greeted warmly as heroes by the sitting members of the council. They relay that Vaarn owned several pieces of property and are going to turn over one such place to the party as thanks for their bravery in the face of danger. The party gladly accept and after splurging some more on tattoos and telling Stephen of an eventual plan to let he and his family live in Ailec once it's rebuilt, The party make their way over to Maplevale Manor, their new home.
Only, Eammon's teleportation attempts gave way to several mishaps which harmed the party greatly. After re-thinking their approach, He teleports them to the outskirts of Ailec and they walk the rest of the way to the Manor.
The party finds it empty and quiet, However an internal investigation by Mistral reveals three kobolds are inside ransacking the place. He relays this to the party and opens the front door using his unseen servant. From there Tensi roars in with full fury. Impaling the first Kobold on her sword as the others run in fear. One being picked off by Celeste as he ran out the front door. And the other Fleeing into the woods after jumping out of the second floor window.
With their new home now empty, The party explore their new abode and find it pretty well comfortable and furnished. Celeste finds a secret room in the cellar with various magical implements she decides is beyond her purview and makes a note to bring in a professional to investigate.
From there the party take their rest inside the new home of Maplevale Manor as a night of strange dreams overtake them.
