Session 5 - When Last We Met 9/18/22
General Summary
When last we met the party had bedded down for the night after a harrowing encounter with a Banshee. The next morning they went to Lady Adele Devereaux to claim the reward. After confirming the authenticity of the party's story, She rewarded them handsomely and asked for one additional favor - ridding her region of some bandits holed up in Cairn Tuam - an ancient shrine or burial site to the south.
The party reluctantly obliges on the condition that they can send their halfing friend, Flint to claim the reward once it is done. The party moves south and after 2 days of travel, comes upon their quarry. A group of 5 brigands making camp within the stone circle of Cairn Tuam. The party easily deals with them through ambush and attack. the party witnessed the last bandit slaughtered by a ghastly looking figure. After easing the tension, they learned that this person, named Paxton, was an undead husk brought back to life by unknown forces to seek revenge on the people who murdered him, his old crew. After hearing his sorrowful tale, the party agrees to help him by heading North to the harsh lawless lands of Sinna to take out the last of his old crew.
They send Flint off to Birchnod to collect the bounty promised to them by Lady Devereaux and made a 3 day journey to the lawless lands of Sinna and the town where Paxton lost his life. Once they enter Tulach, They find the remains of the slaughter still lingering to this day. Long ago picked clean by scavengers. On the opposite end of the town, they spy a camp filled with bandits and animals. Paxton tells the party that the men he is searching for is in there and He moves off to the side to flank the camp. Leaving the party with the job of figuring out how to get past the gate guard and make their way into the camp as well.

These towns fell into chaos and anarchy after the great uprising. Ruled sparsely by rival tribes and clans constantly warring with each other. Some of the clans venture into nearby counties to raid and pillage. They work the land, survive, and fight others if it's necessary. But they scrape by a living hunting and trapping. They keep Direwolves as pets/Attack dogs |
