Session 46: When last we met - 8.6.23

General Summary

When last we met, the party had arrived at the base of the mountain known as Ben Morgh. After sensing that the being known as Cruachan was still at the top of the mountain, they begin their arduous climb towards the top.  On the way, Celeste spies a giant bird capturing its prey and bringing it back to its lair somewhere on the mountainside.  The party investigates the area where they think the creature made landfall and find gigantic talon marks in the dirt.  They continue on carefully. But not carefully enough as some of the party disturbs a sleeping stone giant that throws them off his body before falling back into slumber. 
Finally, they reach the summit where the celestial was trying to holiday for a few millenia. He greets the party with hostility, alluding to their agreement that they would not disturb him any longer. After convincing him that their presence would be a minor inconvenience compared to the wrath of a god of madness and entropy, He agrees to destroy their remaining artifacts, in exchange for taking care of a troll problem along his mountainside. 
The party agrees to rid him of his infestation and they make their way back down the mountain. Tensi spies a trail of bones and body parts with a clear heading along a path. She informs the party and they follow this trail of viscera to the mouth of a cave.  Mistral investigates the inside in his mist form to find two trolls feasting on entrails. 
He returns and informs the party, to which Arcturus charges in to the cave, shouting his name for all to hear for some reason.  The battle goes the party's way as they down both monsters easily. Until one of them refused to stay dead. After some trial and error, the party figured out that the troll that took fire damage did not get back up. And so Tensi smashed the last troll with a lit torch supplied by Vandread and then immediately decapitates it with her sword. It does not get back up. 
The party return to the top of the mountain and Cruachan destroys the last two artifacts. Curiously, they simply break without any sort of explosion or catastrophic event. From there, Cruachan bids them farewell and implores them never to return and to leave him in peace. 
And that's where we'll pick up next time.
