Session 2: When last We left off - 8/29/22

General Summary

When last we left off the party decided on a heading - towards the town of Birchnod. Once there they were greeted by a boisterous braggart by the name of Flint McKellan - who fills them in a little on the town's history and purpose and tells them of the lucrative hunting in the area. He shows off a recent trophy of his - A basilisk.
The party makes their way to the single Inn in the town - The Thorn's nook in. Where they are greeted by Atticus the proprietor. The party settles in for a night of drink and rest as they continue to glean information from several different townsfolk along With Atticus himself. They don't learn much of demons or cults, but much of the history of the country and the surrounding woodland areas.
As the party winds down for the night, Celeste investigates the wanted posters in the tavern - showing several different beasts and unsavory types for intrepid citizens to rid the town of. As she looks on, she is tapped by an old gnome named Sethasa who fills her in on a creature not listed on the board but seems to be the most dangerous. She relays a harrowing tale of the creature - known as a Banshee. She is then shooed out of the bar by Atticus.

The party then take their rests - most of which is indoors. Tensi and Arcturus take their rest out in the stables among the animals. That night they hear a blood curdling scream and eventually awake to find Atticus Thorn dead out on the streets of Birchnod. The crime is reported and investigated eventually having the Lady matron of the town - Adele Devereaux making an appearance and offering a bounty to anyone who slays whatever killed Thorn.
Flint finds the party once more and is excited about the prospect of hunting a banshee... until the party informs him just how dangerous and tricky this is going to be. The party suggests they accompany Flint into Hagswood to work together to take this threat down - To which Flint agrees.
He informs the party to meet him at the outskirts of Hagswood later that afternoon and they will pick up the hunt. Leaving the party to prepare how they please.
And that's where we pick up next time.

Flint Mckellan - A halfling resident of the town who hunts beasties as a side hustle. He seems capable of holding his own based on appearances alone.
Atticus Thorn (RIP) - Owner and Proprietor of The Thorn's Nook Inn. Offered up lodgings and amenities to the party as they pleased. Killed in the night, presumably by a Banshee
Sethasa - Elderly Gnome
Unknown Patrons - celeste spoke briefly with a human who had a flyer in his hand. Said he was a hunter by trade and planned on collecting a bounty on some boars. Gave a bit more insight into how the town and it's leadership operates. Meanwhile Tensi chatted up some people at the bar and gained insight into the war for independence and the general state of the country due to that event.
Adele Devereaux - Lady Matron of The Town of Birchnod. A beautiful waif of an elf proclaimed a bounty on whatever killed Atticus Thorn. Then retreated back to her residence with bodyguards in tow
