Session 119: When Last We Met 3/23/25
General Summary
When last we met, The party had just fought and defeated the Grand Harbinger and his council of Elders, the highest ranked members of the Order of the Perpetual Shroud. As the quiet refilled the chamber and the gravity of what they did sets in on the party, They take a breath and collectively re group.
Celeste moves to cast revivify on Jack, one of their fallen hirelings Unsure whom she will bring back to life. She casts the spell all the same and Jack does return to the world of the living with a snarky comment. They proceed to offer him healing and Vandread and Celeste dole out healing for anyone in the group that needs it to which many happily take advantage of.
From there the party search the bodies and the adjacent rooms for any loot or other hostiles. Romaia finds the latter in one of the rooms as she hears the growls of a Star Spawn Mangler. She announces her find and Sebastian sends in his newly acquired zombie to lure it out of hiding which it does. Proceeding to eviscerate the reanimated corpse. Romaia then shuts the door and traps it inside. Celeste meanwhile stumbles upon a room filled with statues, Only it turns out they are petrified victims of some creature like a Medusa or a basilisk. She decides to topple the statues over and put them out of their misery.
With this area thoroughly explored. the party move through a huge set of double doors and find themselves in a sewer or underground waterway. They follow the tunnel and it leads to daylight! They reach a culvert gate and Celeste proceeds to pick the lock freeing them from the Order of the Perpetual Shroud! They find themselves in the noon day sun just outside of the city limits. They bid farewell to Jack, Scarface and Mate Ellis who say they will visit their town of Ailec when they are in need of a friendly port, But their heart and their bodies belong on the sea and they make for the Coast of the Harbinger's Strait.
The party then move back into the city and head for the Dormition Palace. They are stopped by a few normal looking palace guards before being chided by one of their colleagues to let them in as they saved the Palace (Once again).
They make their way inside and talk to Svetlana updating her on the status of the Order. She thanks and congratulates the party on their success. She returns the ring of mind shielding Mistral gave her and offers the party to rest within the Palace for the night.
Beaten, Bruised and heavily exhausted the party head upstairs to rest while Vandread proceeds to identify all the items they found within the Perpetual Shroud HQ. The day goes on and they take their rest in the lap of luxury inside of the Dormition Palace.
