Arcabar

City on the southern ocean, the south coast of the great desert. A large city, though not as large as Al Aben, of equally great age. A port city, and thus a thriving trade center, though with a reputation for being more isolationist and being tied to pirates. This reputation is earned.

Demographics

Mostly human, though with fairly large non-human populatiuons. Elves are reasonably common, and half-elves. This includes Drow, who are more open in this part of the world, and always have been. There is a large dwarven ghetto, very isolated, defensive and so on. There are halflings and gnomes, though not in great numbers. Goliaths are not unknown, though there is no settlement of goliaths. There are half-orcs rolling around, and a surprising number of orcs, bohgoblins, bugbears and the like. Most of these live in small enclaves - most serve as sailors and soldiers and laborers. There are also scattered gith of both types.   Human ethnicity is mostly of the desert type, though these might be divided between the groups living along the coast and in the desert, and the more eastern groups. There are large numbers of people from both the Jungle Continent and farther east. There are some northern and westerners, but notas man as in the other desert cities. This is the most isolationist city of the area. Though the sailor/pirate community is completely open, as it is something of a refuge for th eriff raff of the many continents.

Government

There is a government, that is probably corrupt, in virtual open alliance witht he pirate kings.

Defences

The harbor is surrounded by hills which are heavily fortified, from both land and sea attack.

Assets

The port; good farm and grazing land around the city; access to mnineral wealth inland.

History

Similar to Al Aben.

Architecture

Similar to Al Aben - more stone, probably, as this is closer to the hills and mountains.

Geography

Deep bay and harbor, hills around it, then hills and rolling plains inland. Less vegetation, though lots of grass, figs and dates and olives and the like, etc.
