Nuleon
A variety of lionkin the SSE covertly plucked and prepared for a second wave of integration experiments, after their old historic assimilation was abandoned. This time, they were set aside on planet Nufyra - a place the name of Felyra has rapidly overrode, and became "New Felyra" to many of them. Physically, they resemble Prulian lionkin, though have a bit more frequent spot mixtures, including fairly common 'tear streaks' akin to cheetani around their eyes. Some on real Felyra have likely 'donated' the original batch, not liking the 'freckled' genetics, and thus spawned a lot of it in the following generations.
Nuleon were integrated with lots of vyllk correspondants. The avian race adored the mountainous terrain, and initially moved in droves despite the focus being on the felines. As such a lot of early culture, and cooperation with k'siiva was then supplanted by vyllk influences. The lionkin witnessed lots of dancers, expressive gestures, vyllk plays and color-shows, and fashion. Nuleon began to then borrow and mix influnce. K'siiva attempted to teach them more unifying ideals, and progress. Technology for one thing was boosted, and older tools a bit replaced, but then came ideal on oneness and spirits. They let them keep their feudal system in most regards, but serfs had to get better treatment, and then females were given more of a chance to perform rather than be judged superficially. While looks still matter between the Nuleon, lioness courting hit a big trend of turning up masked, and being interviewed or seeing them perform shows rather than bought off of looks. Its very common a Nuleon lord doesn't see his wife's face nor most of her body until she's purchased. Likewise theater is a piece and element to most lioness' training. When born, male and female alike get given masks based on their persona. This is expected to change and a new one reforged for their adulthood, and these are often theater and drama-type faces meant to reflect a piece of their attitude, and what they're most suitable for. These become 'mood totems' that are linked to the person, and prompt them to take pride in it.
The Nuleon are not alone on the planet. Between SSE allies, they also spend time contesting territories and terms with Brokehorn dorva that are mistrustful of the siiva, and quycur republicans that have been seen abducting and tormenting other sapiens in the name of an exploitative 'holy art' practice. As such like true Felyra, they have conditioned themselves to be prepared and trained for conflict, and have adapted to special techniques and weapons. Their allies provide new resources and trade, and they've intermingled and invested into having jellyberries and berry mages in their ecosystem.
Culture
Culture and cultural heritage
While large parts of their Prulian culture from Felyra remains, engaging in feudalism, patriarchal heirarchy, etc, there have been great strides of change from the k'siiva and vyllk. For one thing the Nuleon have started to spiritualize k'siiva philosophy, and used vyllk's Cosmic Ascensionism to validate some of their own interpretations. They essentially believe the spiritual weight of their soul, and sacred earning for the current life determine parts of their fate and genetic factors. Example: Korl siiva are born poorer, and must work under others to pass onto a better life, as the same seems present with poorer males of lionkin. Manelords are born with lavish manes, and are seen as high valued souls worth greater power. It is ambiguous if the lionkin actually see their chance at ascending or demotion in an angle that is caried onto another realm or plane like heaven, or if they are reincarnated less clearly than k'siiva, but they've concluded some form of it is true and the effort is valid to commit to. They tend to call this religion, Golden Omniology. This enforces numerous ideals...
- Serfs are doing better to be obedient, and are tested on soul progress to ascend to a life of living better than their current work's master. Male serfs especially tend to be promised a 'heaven of endless females'.
- Females express different nuances of the soul, through their efforts and energies, and the 'perception' in others that see their 'essence'.
- Lumasia fruits are a favorite, and holy food, denoted to "help guide and aspire" the mind to glow bright, and radiate with a potent aura. The fruit makes their fur glow, thus becoming tied as a religious guide and cultural staple.
- Consuming vyllk (in consent) is considered a large part of assisting them, believing their word that it supports their different soul-trip to ascend onto a superior level.
- Those without belief or agreement are in a 'soul purgatory', but may be redeemed or ascend if they still strive to do good acts on the soul. They try to teach compassion and duty to all, but are very tolerant of those who don't agree with the mystic logic.
- Witnessing a k'siiva emerge in reincarnation is considered a revered and sacred act to behold.
Average technological level
The lionkin tend to sometimes still dress in rustic and simple clothes. Long silk, or sparse lionden outfits, and robes that seem out of an older era, not to mention metallic facial masks. However they're actually given a good series of tech. Lioness now use energy-imbued melee weapons, and blaster ranged weaponry. Some clans and households have even been given access to geltoid servants, and powered golems and tank systems for special regional defenses. Their larger communities are guarded well by 'deep sentry' turret systems, and AA defenses along towers and mountains. All have access to sustaining power, television and net systems, and may even order additional military systems. Given they're a quick multiplying backbone of the SSE surface across the planet, they've been often permitted to even order troop deployment vessels, orbital guidance systems, and demolition-tier weaponry, but are often scanned and regulated if they cross into specialized siivakian districts. They're largely expected to both enhance their life, but also defend it, knowing tribes and entities around them don't always get along.
Art & Architecture
Plays, songs, music, and dance performances are a huge deal with Nuleon. Color-shows are also popular, and the occasional magic spectical. They've even admired cooperational displays and deals with their other faction neighbors, like the dorva and quycur.
Foods & Cuisine
Nuleon eat a large part of what most lionkin do. In lucky regions, they have access to Mouse Pounce, but not all regions do. They enjoy sandwiches, burgers, salads, fruit, and even roast tatoa. Most shared cafes and fast food indulge in Cauven-tilted cuisine, meaning they've mostly only seen feather-shaped potatoe wedges instead of string-fries. They tend to enjoy mead, wine, and sour ales more than ordinary beers, and most arid regions have fruit nectars and cream drinks over alcohol. Deep-fried vyllk is a huge staple of meat. Jellyberries have also been produced and harvested abroad in the planet, thanks to a small tarken residence. Lionkin seldom get and preserve the whole berries for genuine uses of pragmatism and warrior magic, and rarely snack on them, however they liberally use it in baking. Skinny lions are given these comfort foods, but in moderate amounts with extra caution on berry sweets, as they're aware of the average saavi's fate.
Cuddlers tend to be given steady amounts of berry pastries, and extra servings of fried vyllk, with even a unique cooking process of 'Turkey Buttering' in which a fried drumstick is coated in heavy butter & cauven lard, and then fried on with another layer of breadcrumbs, making a creamy thick layer that typically fattens a lioness up real quick once its introduced to their daily meals. Cuddlers sometimes get granted a more active role in some deffense, as a manelord won't always "risk" a slender wife if he needs a very quick battle mage to swallow a straight jellyberry for power. However a mixed assortment of 'lower' lionkin get sold to dorva often, and whether intended or not, often fatten-up into cuddlers from the heavier use of berry foods.
Birth & Baptismal Rites
While not strict to traditions, nor taken too seriously, its very common for new kittens to get juice or nectar that's been mixed with lumasia fruit. Even just a small dose in an infant's body makes them glow and radiate, and is promoted as a way of expressing their ambitions to do good, and shows a mother or guardian believes in the infant's strong health and future.
Common Taboos
- Deliberate popping has been stamped out as forbidden and malicious to practice early in K'siiva integration. The geltoid punishment was witnessed, and taught to be more in line with the practice of calibrating a soul lower or higher.
- Forcing a Mood Totem mask off in civil cases is considered offensive, and even rude (but more accepted) between husband and wife.
- A rank below lord choosing to indulge in many berry foods of their own will is often looked at as shameful and trashy behavior. Sometimes carries over to other species, and sneers are done to the more liberal implementation in dorva/tarken/quycur diets.
- Lying about one's accomplishments and virtues is considered a great sin.
