Color Dancing Shows

Color-dancing is a large commercial stage or theatrical event performed by a team of vyllk females. The harpies decorate around vibrant displays and tend to dance with their tail-fans out and/or song voices cast to their best ability. In rarer circumstances, the team of dancers may have requests to either perform a play or opera, or work more around advertising or emphasizing other locales, etc. On rare occasions there may even be team rivalry sports, or associated attachments with other events. While its origin is Cauven with the vyllks themselves, its become a display that occurs frequently across locations that have welcomed alien crossing and activities of other cultures and worlds. It may be found across parts of Vaxhora, space stations, other places across the Kasar, and on occasions within the Orbital Archipelago - and few tend to be happening weekly on their homeworld of Cauven itself.

History

The routine started based on Crukoo dances natural across the species. Females and males would dance for each other's affections and attention in personal signals, but females always had the better coloration and more time to practice elaborate dances. Eventually this evolved with a demand more on them to perform for nobility, or special crowds, and this evolved onto practices where even non-vyllk races had some interest of a sort in these increasingly more commercial events. Sometimes the team and dance stick to more alluring paths catering to their vyllk males (and a few odd aliens), but other times they're made more for families of any species to simply enjoy their abilities more platonically.   Other industries got involves to make use of their traits ranging from art exhibits and brothels to make use of their visual aesthetic, to theater and plays sometimes hiring the same vyllks for more of their voice and enthusiasm. Finally as the only other most famous export is their meat, the sponsors and agents behind the scenes quickly began to apply pressure and commonly 'reward' the harpies between shows with a wide array of junk food. A system propped up for pulling new thin harpies in, while older ones get fatter and given easy ties to go visit a meat farm. As such, being a long-term dancer is for roughly a minority that don't quit or get too plump.

Components and tools

  • Garments tend to come in a variety from over-decorative skirts for over-dressed, long, and garish detail, to thin laces that barely clothe anything. Sheer, gems, ribbons, or even pieced together old molted feathers may be used in odd accessorizing.
  • Older molted feathers may be collected and fired out from confetti cannons as coordinated displays.
  • Microphones are used more prominently across larger audience places, through harpies tend to have the potential to carry their voices a long way without a drop in its directed quality.
  • After-show standards require large banquets of food ranging from a few servings of salads and fruits, to an extreme amount of pizzas, bakery sweets, rice bowls, and sometimes burgers and ice-cream.

Participants

Most dance teams have designed roles for Agents that work in contracts, hiring, and stagework, and a Captain or two that directs and sometimes participates. Then an intended few core members will dance less than sing, and the majority of core dancers with plans or their own routine. Occasionally a system of many dancers involves the team or event operating in rotational rounds and longer performances with breaks, commercials, or even team rivalries.
