Abdominal Combustion
Is technically the result of any form of sudden bursting of the stomach organ, often from being over-stressed and/or bloated with bad digestive gasses. Its a very rare condition though, and even most gluttonous species will face more direct health issues before this, or gain a similar effect from something else such as a selmzi infection. However, any native species to Felyra seems to have evolved with the chance of this terrifying side-effect, and it has since become engrained to different ways in each of its sapient cultures. In felyra specifically, it seems to be a way of how common enzymes evolved in the life, and most produce a lot of gas with smaller escape valves, so heavy eating and digestion produces a lot of compressed air. Often a symptom unique to their warning signs is a complete halt in belching or gas, whereas other cases of explosive guts may be for other reasons including organ failure or chemical sabotage. However, it is rumored that something called 'Popper Poison' exists to spread a quick similar effect across other races, potentially started off a failed prototype of Syrena's Caterpillar Bomb.
Ovebis also are known to implode with upset bellies. However their are mild differences. They may still expel gas, but their bellies eventually ache with so much food that an inflamed swelling (like bad injuries) sets in, and actually ruptures the sensitive skin. Likewise there is a tikerin method of this fate forced by magic, and ending in a more destructive bomb-like force.
Causes
Often excessive eating ahead of ingestion. Sometimes this processed can be more harshly risked with certain foods that cause worse bloating-per-volume, like Felyran spring-dough. For a small period, Felyra also underwent a high spike in cases from addiction in absurd amounts of consuming Nugget's Queen.
Prognosis
A full and extended belly, and the odd guttural growls are initial signs. If one has stopped eating after a few more bites, and the belly continues to grow and fuss, it will likely be too late and continues until the belly cannot stress anymore, up to often even inverting the belly-button just before the consumer implodes. Often just before, they actually lose their breath and may even flush of colors. In rare moments of described pain, some victims even seek the end as a relief against the assaulting pressure.
Cultural Reception
Within Cheetani groups and tribes, they started worshiping this practice by choosing a designated member of their society, and trace out markings for their perceived sun spirit along their belly. They then steadily feed this person all morning, and by high noon, make it excessive until their sun mark is stretched, and bursting out as a religious sacrifice. Lionkin found this primal at first, but numerous societies started testing this on their overcrowded jails until it slowly became normalized among thieves and others, complete with their own superstitions around the practice. This eventually transitioned into something some do to amuse themselves once they've felt their harem has become too big, and few laws to say otherwise once the lionesses were their property, it became a casual extension of their wealth to simply make an event out of forcing one of their lesser or 'boring' females into bursting.
