Remote Explosive Device (RED)
The RED is the most iconic weapon of the Martian Insurgency. With no military industry to speak of, the Martians have reconstituted commercial mining explosives, unexploded military ordnance, and homemade volatile chemicals into makeshift mines. These explosives vary in size, yield, and potency with most capable of knocking out an M165 Armored Patrol Vehicle, leading to the development of a more resilient vehicle: The Heavy Armored Ambush-Resistant Vehicle (HAARV). This in turn led to a focus on constructing more massive REDs or reserving them for dismounted targets.
