Gorgonhenge
Gorgonhenge is a mysterious structure in the Verlorenwode thought to be the oldest standing monument to a Demon Lord on the Material Plane. It was built at least four millennia ago by cultists of the Demogorgon.
it is a large circle of black stones jutting out from the earth at strange angles. In the middle of the circle is a spiraling, maddening Y-shaped sigil in black stone against the bedrock. It glows with a mysterious orange light on some nights. It is believed by some to be the spot where the Demogorgon first burst forth onto the Material Plane, bringing about the Eight Plagues of Dovria. According to legend, sages and priests constructed the circle of stones in order to appease him, though they were unsuccessful in preventing the fall of Dovria. The place has since become a shrine intermittently used by cultists of the Demogorgon (and occasionally other archdemons).
The trees in a mile-wide radius around the monument seem to be mostly or entirely dead, and the area crawls with Undead, parasite-ridden insects and amphibians. Beasts in the area who are normally docile act as if rabid: foaming at the mouth, displaying strange behaviors, and attacking anything in sight.
