Unwood

The Unwood was a forest located in northwestern Yogoth. Originally the [NAME-NAME], the Unwood was corrupted in the early Fourth Age by Yog's malign influence. Twisted into a dark, foreboding place, few entered the Unwood and those who did never returned sane. Home to gigantic spiders and other unimaginable horrors, the Unwood was the province of Yogoth's dark elven population, in an uneasy alliance with the Elder Evil.

History

Third Age

Originally home to a wood elven colony, the elves of [NAME] were among those transformed into dark elves by Yog's release in 899 3A. Given their proximity to the coast, many chose to flee across the Draconic Ocean. Those who remained, however, were doomed to fall under Yog's influence.

Fourth Age

Tensions between the dark elves and Yog's expanding forces continued well into the Fourth Age. After some initial skirmishes, the dark elves proved too difficult to quite overcome by conventional warfare, their guerilla warriors impossible to pin down. Eventually, in 210 4A, Yog and the dark elves of the Unwood came to an understanding and forged a shaky alliance. Yog would allow them the autonomy to govern their own affairs if the dark elves would provide weapons, poisons and assassins whenever It required.
Narcinae Barrityl was born in 529 4A in the Unwood.

• The Heroes: Teleported across Yogoth by the malfunctioning Fissures, Ernst was briefly deposited outside the Unwood, rather than his hometown of Tzal Necros (Episode 6).
