Taraskh Wastes

The Taraskh Wastes was a desert that dominated northern Yogoth. Once a vast territory of hills, forests, rivers and steppe, the Wastes were the ancient domain of the tarrasque, where orcish qorhvs from all across Auros would travel to hunt the legendary beast.
In the Fourth Age, Yog slew the tarrasque while it slumbered beneath the earth, reanimated its corpse and sent it shambling across its ancient territory. This maintained the fractious orcish qorhvs in near-perpetual unity, allowing Yog to pluck them, at need, to supply Its armies. The centuries of destruction, however, devastated the land, creating an arid and desolate landscape. Now nothing grows in the Wastes and only dust reigns.

• The Heroes: Due to a mishap with the fissures, Azathomet was accidentally transported to the Wastes but, upon discovering this, quickly leapt back into the fissure.
