Basic Information
Anatomy
As human-adjacent people, physically they could be confused for beings that don't live in their own world. They stand erect on two legs, reliant on their two arms and hands. Their feet are small but splayed. Legs and arms start at a socket connected to their torso, then have two major joints: one in the centre of the limb and one right before the appendage at the end. They grow a thick hair from their head down to between their shoulder blades. Most have two eyes, two nostrils and two ears on their head, with one mouth. Their teeth tend to be short, but uniform and sharp all the way around.
Genetics and Reproduction
Reproduction is by choice, requiring the genetic additions of at least one other individual before gestation is possible. When making the decision to reproduce, the neufiske's body gradually shifts to be able to carry a child to term, a process that takes around a year (though this depends on the nutrition of the carrying parent, it can be longer if physically unwell).
Growth Rate & Stages
Neufiske are born able to walk and curious to an unfortunate degree. For the first year they sleep alarmingly little and toddle into every new experience possible. Around one year the neufiske child chills the fuck out and sleeps about the same amount as an adult. At this point they also go from being able to eat anything to becoming particular to the diet they have been raised with. Also at this point is when the neufiske begins to grow. By the age of five they are proportionally the same as an adult, but do not come to their full height until they are twelve. Around age fifteen, as they are considered adults, they develop the choice to reproduce.
Dietary Needs and Habits
During their first year, a neufiske infant can eat anything. During this time the body learns how to use the energy and materials of what is consumed in order to sustain itself. At the end of the year, this flexibility fades and neufiske find it very difficult to consume foods with completely new ingredients they are not used to, though they can become accustomed to new ingredients over time.

Once upon a time neufiske used to hole themselves up during the cold seasons, but they have long since figured out how to deal with the cold by putting on even more clothes (when they have to deal with cold at all).

Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Neufiske are considered average by all other races. Their hearing is nothing to write home about. They have good sight, but cannot see well without light. Not many of their species are master magicians, great magical ability few and far between, though most are capable of it at a very basic level. Nevertheless, they are heavily reliant on their sight and hearing, considering their sense of smell and ability to read vibrations are even worse unless they are specifically trained.
Civilization and Culture
Relationship Ideals
The core of society is family. While a neufiske can choose exactly when to have a child and whether they are the one to carry it, it is still expected that every neufiske will have children in one way or another - even if it is not theirs biologically. Raising children is accepted from single parentage to raising them together within a community.
Culture and Cultural Heritage
Neufiske believe anything can be corrupt, which means they are accepting of public black markets and tend to consider a career in the army as normal.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Neufiske are hypocritical when it comes to other species. They wholeheartedly accept other species as romantic partners, friends, and children. Outside of that, they can be rather judgemental of others not neufiske or raised by neufiske.
