Teela

The Guardian Idol of Nature and the Sea

Teela is a Female Aquatic Elf with smooth, grayish blue skin, deep silver eyes, and short hair of wood and shadow. She is typically depicted wearing drab sailor's garb with tightly woven netting across Her chest and hips. The Guardian Idol Herself is often represented in watercolor paintings of the sea and of sea life. Many of these paintings tend to show exploration of reef beds or close to the surface during the daytime. There are, however, two taboos when it comes to painting Teela; don't paint any sharks and do not paint her in a nighttime setting. Her mount is recognized as being a Vello Hippocampus.

Dogma

Teela is a very quiet and reserved Idol, but is overly curious involving anything and anyone in an ocean setting. Marine life are one of Her passions and the protection and safeguarding of marine life is an important ideal to Her. Many of Her teachings are treated as guidelines for many elven sailors and fishermen alongside the teachings of Nadir and Meredith. What is vastly more important to Teela is empathy and learning about other creatures, not just marine life.

Gaining Favor or Redemption

Teela is a very welcoming Idol, and to gain favor with Her is something that is more difficult for those that are not willing to learn of their surroundings or protect the environment around them. Worshippers of Teela have found that through protecting nature and the sea, She will keep you in Her good graces. However, willfully harming nature or an unwillingness to protect nature can lead you to losing Her favor. To redeem yourself in Teela's eyes is to perform a great service on behalf of a druid of Teela. This service is dependent on the druid cove they are a part of.

Interactions with the World

Teela's interactions are more subtle, but have been noticed by the more astute travelers of Omedei. Much of Omedei's wildlife will avoid certain areas, or will have a friendlier disposition to Teela's worshippers as the animals are guided by Her, not the worshippers. More nature oriented worshippers of Teela will find themselves spending more time communicating with wildlife as opposed to communing with their Idol.
