Aster Sabille
The Embodiment of Beauty
Aster embodies beauty, but also the dangers that comes with beauty. As a guardian to portals left untouched, She has made it abundantly clear that She is a being of territory and punishment. As a dryad-medusa, Her grove is filled with topiaries of heroes that entered without knowing their imminent fates. Guarded by Drakainai, the Great Dragon of the Forest, She has operated as an ambassador of the Fae and a mediator to Adventurers. However, it seems only Edmund Kent, the Icon of Adventurers, is allowed free access to Her grove. Her mount is recognized as being a Black Drake.
Dogma
Aster is a cold-hearted dryad-medusa. Her caretaking of Her grove is only matched by Her hatred for those that trespass in Her forest. She is always willing to negotiate and speak with mortals brave enough to withstand the strength of Drakainai. And foolish enough to match Her gaze. She only desires for those that worship Her to become beautiful, and that is done through becoming a part of Her grove as another plant to be taken care of.
Gaining Favor or Redemption
To gain favor with Aster, one must first show respect to nature and the beauty within it. To show disgust towards the beauties that are all-encompassing on Omedei is to show disrespect towards Aster. To redeem one's self in Her eyes, one must find a dryad-medusa to swear fealty to. This act of atonement is then to be met with having ingested a specific seed, the Nightbloom Bulb. If one were to fail in the eyes of Aster again, the Nightbloom Bulb will root their body into the ground as they become a tree for the dryad-medusa that initially gave them the bulb to travel to and make a new grove out of your corpse.
Interactions with the World
Aster is considered to be very prolific with Her creations. However, the most astounding out of all of them is the Nightbloom and Daybloom Bulbs. Nightbloom Bulbs are harsh punishments that are bestowed unto those that have failed Her. These dark blue and black seeds are the size of a hobbit's thumb, but once ingested will curse the individual with a powerful enchantment to never fail Aster. Upon failure, the individual will immediately feel their bones break through their skin to become a rugged bark as their appendages stretch and break to become branches and roots. Their body forever changed into a gnarled tree with their soul trapped inside for eternity as their only true company is that of a dryad-medusa that most likely gave them the Nightbloom in the first place.
Daybloom Bulbs are considered incredible boons to the most devout of Aster worshippers. The Daybloom acts very much like the Nightbloom. The Daybloom is ingested and as long as one has Aster's favor, the chosen individual is granted immunities to poisons and diseases, they gain the benefits of Her gaze, and they are able to travel through trees across vast distances. However, the punishment for failing Aster is worse with this seed. If one were to falter in their duties, their soul will be devoured by the bulb, their body will retreat inwards into the Daybloom Bulb resting in their stomach, and over the course of a month's time the remains will transform into a dryad-medusa with no memories of the prior individual.
