Tagdariel, The Arcane Architect

The Visage of her Divinity

Tagdariel was once a mere mortal. An Eladrin witch with light violet skin and dark hair that travelled down her shoulders reaching her lower back. Her eyes were a freezing blue and her ears were heavily pierced with pieces of jewelry made from wood, ivory, and gold.   In her divine form, she shares some similarities with her mortal form. Her pale lavender skin carries her previous hue but has sparkling freckles dotting her cheeks. Her hair is deep indigo and flows unnaturally as if it is floating upon water. Lithe and tall, she carries a series of ancient tomes upon her person, each book hanging from her arms and chest wrapped in leather binds. Her ears are pierced by hanging pieces of jewelry and her eyes glow with an icey blue aura that carries the knowledge of untold generation. Several other depictions of her exist. Many include a third eye upon her forhead. Some depict her with an extra pair of arms, holding a series of objects. A tome, a child, and a ball of fire.

A Divine Triad

Tagdariel is referred to as one of the Tresii. The Tresii are the three gods that make up the heads of The Shepherdic Sainthood and are the ones responsible for leading the Fey Refugees to the Mortal Realms. Tagdariel is the architect of the colossal Megaportals that transferred the large amount of refugees to the Mortal Realm. She helped lead the construction of the portals and is responsible for their magical properties. She carved the runes and charged the stones with arcane energy. When the time came, the portal opened and the travellers were introduced to a brand new world where they would found their new home.

The Followers of the Arcanist

The Arcanist Saint is worshipped by those who hunger for knowledge, magical and practical. Her temples and shrines are often host to journals and tomes holding the knowledge of those who seek favor from the goddess. She is also the patron goddess of marriages and child births as a priest of Tagdariel is often present to give the rites for such events in Shepherdic communities. Another widely observed practice of worship is leaving memorobilia such as pictures of a worshipper's family. A shrine to Tagdariel will often include artistic renditions of family members, both living and dead. Paintings, sketches, dolls, and more can be found on shrines to Tagdariel. This can help those who have passed move on easier in the afterlife, or provide safety to those who are living.   Most temples to gods of The Shepherdic Sainthood are known as Havens. These Havens are often built to be houses of worship for all three of the Tresii, with a number of priests dedicated to each Tresus. However, there are a number of temples dedicated to Tagdariel herself. Most of these temples are host to scribes and divine arcanists who study magic and reap knowledge. Her grand temple in Geata Iontas is an immense vault of Elven scholarly knowledge and is built of the same stone as the portals used to bring the Sylvan Refugees to the Mortal Realm.

Divine Domains

With her arcane past, Tagdariel is heavily associated in the avenues of magic and enchantment. Her vast knowledge and magical skill are regarded as some of the most advanced in ancient standards. Many mages, scholars, and creatives look to her for inspiration and enlightenment in the aspects of their fields.   Tagdariel also leaned into trade during her existance as Queen of the Elves. She opened trade and travel between her kingdom and other hostile lands around her. The concept of trade also holds weight in magic as you cannot create something without trading mortal materials and your own effort.   After her ascension, she became a patron of family, a protector of children, preacher of fertility, and a symbol of matrimony.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

Tagdariel has several symbols that belong to members of her clergy and temples. One of the most common is an open eye with a flame in the iris. The open eye represents the acceptance of knowledge and the action of learning. The flame represents magical energy, both conjured and innate.   Another well known symbol often adorned by special orders of Tagdariel and dedicated priests is that of the Claddagh Arcana. Two arms are extended forming a ring with the hands reaching towards an arcane sigil. Most common to find is the Arcana sigil of Knowledge, which is a circle with two half crescents and a dark dot forming an eye shape in the center.   Some select orders use this symbol but change it to match their ideologies. Some devout worshippers change it to match their personalities or forms of worship. The most common sigils to replace it with are that of life and blood. Life is described as five lines arranged to look like a tree. Blood is two curved, symmetrical lines that cross in the center and curve back around.

Mental characteristics

Intellectual Characteristics

Tagdariel was one of the greatest mages of her time. She is considered the most calculating, yet sincere of the Saints. She is intelligent, courageous, and eloquent. Many consider her to be kind, thoughful and charismatic. However, she also could also be a ruthless individual with a hunger for ambition. If she wanted something, she would do what is needed to achieve this goal. She often shows little remorse for her actions and has a weakness of envy. She also struggled heavily with doubting her own abilities, but gained her courage during the Exodus and cemented it after attaining godhood.   During her time as a young mage, she showed incredible intellect to her tutors, mentors, and fellow pupils. Tagdariel in her mortal life was considered to be one of the brightest arcanists to ever exist. The only reason she is no longer considered as such is to make it fair for the mortals that came after her. Her analytical mind allowed her to understand magic and science to greater lengths than her cohorts. However, whenever one of her cohorts discovered something that she overlooked or did not have the time to study, something in her would tell her that she could never be good enough.
