Sure, we have magical teleportation and dimension travel, but those take high level magic and energy. Has anyone actually gone to space though? I know I'd love to visit the moon and see why the hell it's like that.
This town is located in Northern Omari on the Eastern side of Lumisi Lake. It's a more recent settlement with a high population of researchers. Many of its inhabitants are fascinated, or even downright obsessed, with outer space and what lies beyond the stars.
Layout
Lunaris was built to resemble a crescent moon on its side; the "back" of the moon faces South with the open of the crescent facing North. Most buildings reside within this shape. Located in the negative space is the town's observatory and related facilities.
The Western section contains residential homes and a small park. The Eastern section houses various businesses and official buildings. There is also a small university near the observatory with a heavy focus on the sciences and non standard travel.
Places to See
Observatory
This is currently the largest of its kind. It's open to the public most days and offers tours on a regular basis. Admission is free and there is a gift shop where fancy prints of space pictures are available.
Moonshine Park
It's located at the center of the residential area and is safe to visit both day and night. There is a playground, spacious picnic area, and a flower garden. Many folks enjoy taking moonlight strolls through the area.
University
It's small compared to other campuses, but is hard to get accepted into and leads Omari in space related research. Many students continue to live and work in Lunaris after graduating.
Moon Rock Motel
There are a couple places to stay in Lunaris, but this motel is the most popular. It's space themed with rooms designed to look like pods that might be used in space travel. It's ran by an elderly gnome couple who sell "moon rocks" for extra money.
