East Bridge

Originally a military-outpost situated across the only bridge between the empires of Ankaluun, East Bridge has grown into a large town yet remains heavily fortified due to its proximity to Dalkor. East Bridge is home to the largest number of ground troops which are actively deployed outside of the capital.
The western portion of the town is still made up of the garrison and fortifications protecting the empire from an invasion from the west. The eastern portion of the town is what originally grew from a temporary encampment of various camp followers. The town grew quite organically over the last millennia or two and its sprawls off in several directions.

Government

Currently run by a town commissioner called Arnold Grafton, a human man in his later years. Due to the heavy military presence dominating the town it can be a precarious balance between civilian government and the military leadership of the local garrison. Grafton is a former sergeant in the military who spent most of his career stationed here which gives him a level of respect from the local military leaders that eases any friction that might arise.

Defences

The garrison provides the majority of defense for the town and it is heavily fortified. Twin towers stand at the edge of the bridge itself, constantly manned by a platoon of infantry and several ballista crews. In a layered fashion, arraying back from the bridge between it and the town are a series of walls in an ever growing arc, concave towards the west. Anyone who crosses the bridge, friend or foe, will have to go through many layers of defense before arriving in East Bridge proper.

Industry & Trade

Some trading occurs here but the general industry of the town is the military. Such vendors, taverns, and lodging that exists are almost exclusively present to serve the militaries needs. For more significant trades of goods, most people go out to Midbridge.
