Olivia & Eleanor

494 RB

as catalogued byMagi Stanwell
By the writings of the Historians of Quldafjord, we are in the 494th year of the Age of the Fourth Clans. By the reckoning of Dafydists and the Lamércian calender, we are in the 251st year since Emperor Dafyd's birth.   We are seeing a true changing of the world, where the diplomatic relations between the continent of Olivia and the continent of Eleanor have exploded into a convoluted affair of who is on whose side. The ramifications of the collapse of the Valyean Empire (ignoring what the Eastern officials may say) are still being felt in F'yore, Kettel and the Norlands. The damage done by the horrifying North Wind have simmered down and the Yuletyde have made great reparations to their homes. And Dymercia is investigating the power of steam and magically powered machinery to their own ends.   In Eleanor, the continuing conflict of Omrik and Alrik causes rifts in alliances. The secluded nation of Khiinor is attempting to make friends in far places and expand its influence upon the seas. And Quldafjord is ensuring it remains a strong hub of stability, even when cracks are showing amongst its peoples, and the elves are feeling more inclined to meddle with their exiled brethren.   And the oceans are full of ships. Trade, military, explorers, and adventurers. There is talk of a fostpoint, a theorised one by the magi, where the storm sjichan are said to have been born. There is no fostpoint to speak of on Olivia nor on Eleanor and it speaks that perhaps there is an undiscovered land across those seas. So the Dymercians are stoking fires, the Khiinori are blowing wind in their sails, the Bulo are filling their pockets, and the Eastern Elves are whispering with one another.   Before such explorations bear rich fruits, we must ensure that are books are filled to the brim of what we know of home. As the magi of Temsgaet, knowing full well the damage of being ill-prepared, are expecting a shifting in power not seen before.
