Luco du Grassi

Mar Luco du Grassi

I find myself stifled within my home. I wish to see where the goods we receive come from! I wish to meet lords of faraway places!
— Mar Luco, as written in his memoirs, circa 999 TF
The explorer Mar Luco du Grassi is the write of the valuable Memoirs of Mar Luco du Grassi to which is an important source of information about Eleanor, written around the eleventh century of the Age of the Third Clans. Mar Luco was a Bulo gnome and son to the Lord Cerro du Grassi, who was lord of Vore at the time. Vore received a lot of water traffic and it inspired Mar Luco to stowaway on a ship to explore.   Mar Luco was given the title Mar, an honorific title on the same level as Sir, only after his return after five years of travelling around Eleanor. He then attempted to sail east into the maelstrom sea; the ship was wrecked and his body never recovered.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Mar Luco is known for his memoirs of which he details his travels over five years around Eleanor in the eleventh century of the Age of the Third Clans. He took enormous fascination with animals, plants, politics, cultures, and structures. His record is often used as a point of reference of that age due to its unassuming nature. Though he does write with biases, these are few and easily seen as manipulated by the people he met (the court of Omrik speaking of the wars with Alrik for example).   Luco managed to pass through a large section of the Golden Fields, the Knife of the World, Rhuti, Alrik, Omrik, the Olivlands, and even as far as Khiinor and its surrounding islands.
