Crisis of 24982 AYM

The Crisis of 24982 AYM was a period of chaos within the Kaultedt Family that lasted from 12 Anta-Eimarae to 15 Geta-Eimarae, 24982 AYM in the Family's territory in the Elironid tribe. It emerged from the actions of Taisat, the head of the family, and his predecessor Rithas.
During the Crisis, the general population of the Family split into 3 groups; the Artalor, who were made up mostly of those discriminated against by the head of the family and therefore called for the complete removal of the government, the Ardunir, who supported the head position, and the Arkheotor, who did not fit in with either group and instead focused on surviving during the chaos. There was approximately 130 reported deaths during the Crisis, and their forced expulsion from the Elironid tribe in 15 Geta-Eimarae, 24982 AYM, ended the Crisis and gave way to the Kaultedtian Wars.

Background

Starting as early as 25100 AYM, Orvegar, a member of the Kaultedtian Family, engaged in Eovrisibb with several members of other families. This act, when discovered in 25080 AYM, led to the public shaming of Orvegar and his resulting children by Rithas, the head of the Family. These children became known as the Vyryntor, meaning the Feral/Monstrous, and were thereafter shunned and looked down upon. Among the punishments dealt to them, they were confined to two specially designated areas known as the Chelordar and Chresinter, meaning the Cursed and Fallen, respectively. They were two large chunks of the southern half of the Family's territory, taking up around 5% of the entire surface area.
In the years that followed, however, the rate of Eovrisibb within the Vyryntor increased drastically, to the point where, by 25050 AYM, they made up 1/10 of the Family's total population. In 25000 AYM, as the Fariniath Family left, sparking chaos and confusion, the Family's rate of Eovrisibb dropped significantly, and by the time of the Crisis, the Vyryntor made up a staggering 1/4 of the total population. During this time, all the way from 25080 to 24982 AYM, both Rithas and his successor Taisat were quick to label the Vyryntor as inferior to the general populace because of Orvegar's actions.

Kidnapping of Eskhirom and Storming of the Chresinter

When Taisat died in 10 Anta-Eimarae, 24982 AYM, the Vyryntor, who had by this time renamed themselves to the Artalor, meaning the Risen, were quick to spring up in revolt. In 12 Anta-Eimarae, 24982 AYM, a mob of them gathered and stormed the Kaultedtian Palace (where the Head lived) and kidnapped Eskhirom 2 hours before he was set to be instated as the new Head, taking him hostage inside Chresinter, the easternmost of the two areas. The supporters of Eskhirom, led by his brother Rezinth, chased after them, and the two engaged in a vicious brawl in the outskirts of the territory. At this point in history, the newly-formed Artalor did not yet support anarchy, but were instead keen on minimizing the negativity surrounding their reputation. However, this action of kidnapping Eskhirom only served to do the exact opposite. Faced with the realization that their image was never going to heal, they instead opted to kill Eskhirom and use their raw strength to dominate the rest of the population.

Massacre of Rezinth

However, before they were to do so, Rezinth's forces breached the mob and rescued Eskhirom. Despite this, the breach left in the Artalor's lines was swiftly closed instantaneously after Rezinth had gone through and therefore he was separated from the rest of his army. The Artalor along the border immediately closed in upon them, and most of the company alongside Rezinth was slaughtered, including Rezinth himself. The rest of Rezinth's men closed in upon the site where they were slain, at which point the Artalor fled west, to Chelordar. Following Rezinth's death, Eskhirom entered a deep state of trauma, at which point Rezinth's son Lennorak took change of the newly-named Ardunir, a term meaning Stalwart.
The Ardunir immediately pursued them as they fled northwards and towards the Head Palace, where the large twisted columns restricted entry to just a few at a time. There, they barricaded the front entrance and stayed there for 3 days, until the Ardunir broke through the barricade.

Battle at the Palace

Upon breaking through in 15 Anta-Eimarae, the Ardunir and Artalor engaged in vicious fighting inside the cramped spaces of the palace, dealing severe damage to the building. After an hour and a half of fighting, the walls became too damaged, and the roof partially collapsed, crushing and killing around 140 Ibrovinids (historical accounts say around 50 were Artalor and 70 were Ardunir). Lennorak's leg was caught under the roof, and in the ensuing chaos, he was severely wounded.

Ceasefire of Zilerny

In response to the Battle at the Palace, Zumiza, the Hyvamto-Re-Elironid, sent his son, Zilerny, in an attempt to arrange a ceasefire between the Artalor and Ardunir. This was sponsored by Eskhirom, who was in distress after Rezinth's death and Lenorrak's injury. In 17 Anti-Eimarae, Eskhirom and Lenorrak met with a small group of Artalor representatives and, under the guidance of Zilerny, wrote and signed a ceasefire. Among the terms was that the Kaultedtian territory was split in half, right down the middle, and one half was exclusively for the Ardunir, and the other for Artalor. Each side was treated the same as the other families, although their votes who be worth one-half that of a regular family. With Eskhirom still recovering, Ettias became the head of the Ardunir, while Stoson became the head of the Artalor.
