The Broken Tower Inn

The Broken Tower is a large, sprawling building in the center of Wolfhaven- one of the few true multi-story structures in the city. Over the years since it's original construction, it has gone through numerous owners and each one has added onto it. At this point in it's existence, it is a combination of the main bar where the entrance lies, multiple common areas, several sub-bars, and lots and lots of overnight rooms.   The place is loud, full of life and energy, with drink flowing and snatches of song coming from this or that table. It is often bustling with people - either in wolf form, human form or some semblance between. The patrons of The Broken Tower are varied; everything from rowdy dock workers to travellers just passing through. Cerridwen, a local woman with wildly ginger hair, can often be found performing at the Broken Tower as one of their bards. She can be found dancing through the crowd, playing her violin to tables or leading the patrons in a raucous or bawdy song.

Architecture

The inside of the main entrance area is incredibly spacious, with high vaulted wooden ceilings, a large atrium bar with generous seating, and a mezzanine balcony with seating that encircles and overlooks the floor below. From this central point, there are multiple pathways - some going upstairs, others jutting off to corridors upon corridors, like a spoke wheel in a meandering, complicated way. All leading to some new area or to the overnight rooms. Many of said rooms fit into perfect rustic luxuriousness, extremely comfortable and inviting without quite tipping over into being ostentatious but there are enough rooms to allow for anyone to find one that suits their taste. The tubs are enchanted with minor Matter and Forces spells, keeping the water permanently warm, clean and soapy and the bubbles floating cheerfully on the surface.
The Inn is built, in part, from the remnants of a fallen stone tower outside of the city; the large blocks of granite, basalt and limestone hefted and hauled within the city walls and cobbled back together to create beginnings of The Broken Tower Inn. After that, every owner has added their own style and flair onto the ever-expanding structure until it has become a mishmash of stone and woodwork of various styles and influences.

History

The Inn's original tower, where it all began, served as the backdrop for a legendary conflict. In a pivotal moment of cooperation between Wolfhaven and neighboring species and cities, they united to confront the last remaining vestige of the Corrupted Wyrm that had entrenched itself within a tower on the outskirts of their domain. The Uratha, in particular, assumed the responsibility of eradicating this dire threat, under the condition that the tower and its environs would be incorporated into their territory - what would become Wolfhaven. This epic battle raged on for days, exacting a heavy toll in terms of lives lost—an especially devastating blow to Wolfhaven's already depleted population in the aftermath of the Fall. However, their unwavering determination and sacrifice ultimately led to the tower's triumphant destruction and the victory they had sought. The lake adjacent to the brutal conflict bore the weight of an overwhelming volume of blood, staining its waters a deep crimson thus leading to Wolfhaven's lake being known thereafter as 'Crimson Lake'.
