Scope
The motivation behind building Odezia
My main motivation for creating Odezia, is creating a world in which my thoughts and feelings are at home. A safe place for self-expression, I suppose.
The goal of the project
My end goal is not to create a novel, nor a campaign. Maybe, after years of building, that might happen at some point, but for now my goal is the process itself. To me, worldbuilding is a form of creative expression.
Additionally, I really enjoy learning new things, and doing research into history or cultures or science to worldbuild, is great fun to me.

Odezia's Unique Selling point
Odezia is your typical monsters-in-the-night world, but with a rich history, a variety of cultures, and a balance between magic and science.
Theme
Genre
As Odezia is mainly created from my dark thoughts, it will be a dark fantasy, maybe even a dark fairytale. Era wise it will have a gaslight-esque feel to it, because I like science.
Creatures lurk in the dark and wars are waged to obtain the one thing which protects against them. New technologies make the wars more savage than the last one.

Reader Experience
The feeling I want to create for Odezia is an apprehensive mystery. A fear, but curiosity for the unknown. A sense of wonder, but a mild uncomfortable feeling at the same time.
I also want to create a feeling of hope in a world filled with terrors, as that is something I need to tell myself as well.

The main tone of Odezia is dark, but with small sparks of light to maintain a sense of hope.
