The Asylo Observatory
The Asylo Observatory is a mostly elven settlement that is thought to be a remnant of the Gluon civilization. It has since been converted to an outpost for scientists to study the great impact creator.
Demographics
The Observatory is most highly populated by elves but otherwise a mix of all races of people. It’s location makes it fairly difficult to get to so generally on the most wealthy can afford to go. The majority of the people there are scientists but farmers, cooks,and doctors are needed to support the colony.
History
The Observatory was first discovered by an elven expedition led by Valeró into Kyen to study the great impact. This is also the first discovery of the Gluon civilization and marked the beginning of a new era in science and technology.
Architecture
The architecture is split between the magnificent smooth stone of the Gluons and the elven add ons and updates.
Geography
The Observatory’s name comes from the elven word for sanctuary. It consists of 10 floating islands of sizes ranging from a few miles in diameter to the size of a small house. The area it floats over is dangerously hot with temperatures reaching 200 degrees. The islands are protected by a translucent sphere of unknown energy. The shield of sorts glimmers with a rainbow iridescent sheen that blocks a portion of the suns rays making the interior a comfortable but humid 80 degrees. Unending streams flow off the islands edges evaporating into steam underneath the islands. The islands are almost entirely covered in a thick jungle. Roads are small and beat up as if it where a constant struggle to keep them from being swallowed by the forest around them.
