Final Contact War

The Conflict

Prelude

In the early days the world was fairly cold and the many races and civilizations grew up completely unaware of each other. Each new confrontation was like coming into contact with an alien species. Some went peacefully and others not so much. But none came close to when the Reptilian leader Iedek breached the surface from their underground city on the northern tip of Dreaken in search of a new home. Once on the surface they immediately traveled south first coming into contact with the orc civilization. Unable to speak the same language and with the orcs hotheaded nature a war broke out.

The Engagement

Alliances formed between the elves and the dwarves to defend the southern reaches of Tessea from what seemed like an onslaught of reptilian humanoids. After 10 years the entire world was involved as the Zaograk armies, as they became known flooded the world in search of land to call their own. After the Orc city of Vord fell many of the orcs either where taken as slaves or fought along side by the Zaograk’s. The war raged on for decades and millions of lives where lost on all side.

Outcome

On the 49th year a team of Samsaran linguists in the Agean city of Astrum finally finished decoding the reptilian’s language. They traveled to the western shore where what later became known as The Battle of Noshire was raging between the Samsaran kingdom of Novaal and the Zaograk forces. They fought their way to the front lines only to find out the battle was getting nowhere. With their new understanding of the reptilian language they proposed a ceasefire and asked for a meeting with the leaders of the world in hopes of stopping the bloodshed. Iedek agreed and the meeting was held on that very same battlefield in front of everyone 2 days later. The meeting lasted 5 hours while all sides tried to get their points across. Eventually they all came to an agreement that the Reptilians would get the western half of Kyen all to their own in return for peace and the dismemberment of the Zaograk empire. At the end of the meeting they all signed a document carved on a metal tower shield called the Twin Scales Treaty. Due to the success of the meeting the World Council of the Twin Scales was formed shortly after in the hopes that something like this never happenes again.

Aftermath

even though the conflict was resolved things weren’t perfect. Despite agreeing to it the orcs where unsatisfied with the outcome and compromise. They believed the Reptilians should not have been treated so equally given the destruction they caused. As a result the orcs wanted no part in the council and declared that they be left entirely out of world affairs. To this day they dont participate in the WCTS and maintain solitude on Dreaken even if it has stunted them technologically and socially due to their lack of societal aid.

Historical Significance

Legacy

That spot on the western cliff sides of Agea where it all happened became the beginning of the worlds first free city. It was called Noshire after the reptilian word meaning agreement. The WCTS even chose it for their permanent headquarters in honor of the deal that was struck.
The war forever became a symbol of what misinformation can lead to. Forever burned into the back of everyone’s minds
