Conveyance of Ocrea

"The world we come from is gone, we were taken from where we came from and now we are here living among a world rotten with anti-magic and many flaws that destroy what we used to see in the Old World." - Unknown
The Conveyance of Ocrea is a very revered myth that appeared since the foundation of Ocrea, where the first civilizations of Ocrea were told by a band of mages that the continent was not from the planet they were on and that they were somehow teleported by very powerful magic, or by the gods themselves, to planet Earth to escape a disastrous event from the past that systematically destroyed their entire planet.

Summary

In Ocrean folklore, as well as theories of modern Ocreans, it is believed that Ocrea is a continent that has never existed on Earth prior to its discovery, but was actually transported by magic by either the mages or the gods from their original planet to a different world that doesn't belong to them. Ancient mages told them that the planet that the original Ocrea came from was destroyed by a disaster that completely destroyed the world and that extremely powerful magic was used to transport them to a new world to survive, but the lack of natural magic on Earth proved to be the detriment of the people of Ocrea, only few surviving with ancient magic.

Historical Basis

The myth started to die down in Ocrean society but reappeared on the discovery of Europeans and their use of gunpowder, a piece of alchemy that could never be conjured up by any elements in Ocrea, as well as several differences in both landscape, flora and fauna, which makes them appear to be in a new world that doesn't fit right with them. It is also said that the magic that transported the continent swallowed the civilization that appeared before Ocrea, but left only small portions of that civilization alive on few islands that survived.   This theory also appeared in European documentations as an explanation as well, as they have just discovered the massive magical capabilities of the Ocrean people, something that they could never do, and an answer as to why the brown-skinned people of the Caribbean don't seem to match with the lighter-skinned Ocreans. It only became stronger when they encountered both the naga and lerush people, species that speak and mostly walk like humans that have no single traces in any historical documents. It is also theorized that the mystical animals that arrived from Asia originally came from the continent before moving to foreign lands, which became a massive explanation as Spanish conquistadors discovered certain species of the same documented animals of hundreds of years ago on the continent.
