Naga

Naga are a race of vampiric serpent people in the land of Ocrea. They originated from the Island of Shadow and have since immigrated to the continent of Ocrea, bringing with them not only their lust for blood but their talents as skilled assassins.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The pure-born Naga are known to have the torso of a humanoid person, but the lower half of a long serpent, showing more reptilian features than humanoid. Those who cross-bred with other humanoid races over the centuries have gained a somewhat humanoid appearance but retain their reptilian features in their skin and facial features.

Ecology and Habitats

The nagas natural habitats are warm areas such as forests or jungles. Although they are only partially cold blooded they struggle to survive in cold parts of the world. This is part of the reason that they immigrated to the larger continent of Ocrea in the first place.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Their main diet is on blood, considered the most vital part of their diet, which often times leads them to hunt down animals just to drink their blood or sneak into the homes of people and drink their blood by force.

Facial characteristics

Although a nagas face usually resembles that of a human, they are known to have larger venom fangs that are used to suck the blood of their victims.

Nagas are as intelligent as humans and lerush, but are known to become more experienced than both of the races.

Civilization and Culture

History

The naga are considered the most cunning of the three elder races of Ocrea. It is known that the naga species have had no such society like the humans and lerush of Ocrea, and have since become a part of human society, both as a way to get away from the murky landscape of their previous homeland and as a way to find a new food source.
In the context of the Conveyance myth, it is said that the naga have since existed on the island south of Ocrea's mainland, called the Island of Shadow, and have survived by being close to the range of the magical blast, thereby becoming one of three elder races that survived the fallout of the previous world's destruction. Since then, most have established themselves as both an animalistic and vampiric species on the continent.
