Ocrea
"Isla de la magia" - Named by the conquistadors
Ocrea is a massive continent that takes up almost the entirety of the Atlantic Ocean, as well as part of the Pacific, and is considered the most "magical" of all the continents. Ocrea covers an area of 61,858,000 square kilometres of Earth's total land area. The continent, which has long been home to the vast majority of mythical creatures, is said to be the foundation of magic on the entirety of Earth. Since its discovery by the outside world, it has become a point of interest by almost every country in Europe and Asia."Is this the land we have come to conquer, Cortés?"
"No, I don't think so. It is too civilized, too magical and certainly too beautiful to even think of a conquest. I do believe they are all but open to an invasion."
- Pedro de Alvarado and Hernán Cortés upon taking in the sight of Leylas.
Geography
About 62% of Ocrea is mountainous, with a mountain range running through each of the main islands. Ocrea's forest cover rate is 68% since the mountains are heavily forested. Since there is often high-leveled ground, many towns and villages are constructed on top of these ranges to get a vantage point above certain valleys and aquatic landscapes. As Ocrea is situated in an area where volcanoes erupt underneath it, it's inhabitants feel frequent earth tremors and occasionally volcanic activity. Despite this, it is said that it is the magic of the continent that inhibits the possibility of earthquakes and tsunamis. Hot springs are extremely numerous and are used as the continent's main leisure to both them and foreigners.
Fauna & Flora
Around 9000 to 12,000 species of plants exist naturally in Ocrea, with its most notable plants being the cherry blossom tree, nicknamed the "Pink Wonders" by Europeans. The vegetation varies widely from the subtropical forests of the south of the continent and the temperate forests of the north. In the subtropical zone, mangroves and tree ferns can be found. In the warm-temperate climates, such as the north and the western seaboard, the dominant vegetation is a broad-leaved evergreen forest with many oaks.
Its fauna houses thousands of creatures that are completely foreign to Europeans, starting from oddly colored animals and even some that emit a bright aura - sparking investigation from Europeans to compare them to their animals - which are known to be described as "mystical" by both the Ocrean and European people. It was noted that the only few animals share a similar relation with European fauna.
