Near Vishkai
Near Vishkai is a large peninsula to the east of Qikuo that juts out from Far Vishkai into the Jade Sea, forming the Bay of Lotuses in the process. It is an arid region, and although less rocky and unforgiving than the lands to its north it is far from a paradise.
Inhabitants
Near Vishkai is largely inhabited by Vishkanya, a race descended from the interbreeding of humanoids and lamias, potentially with some lizardmen in their ancestry as well. They are native to both Near and Far Vishkai, with those from Far Vishkai being staunch traditionalists, proud warriors, and isolationists, while those from Near Vishkai are much more open to learn from other cultures. Near Vishkai is also the home of many humans and elves, and even some of the reclusive Ganeshans. The inhabitants, regardless of race, are referred to as Near Vishkanya.Name
The names "Near Vishkai" and "Far Vishkai" are often confusing, as Near Vishkai is actually farther from Fenghuang than Far Vishkai. The name derives not from physical distance, but rather the ease with which they might be reached. Far Vishkai is much harder to reach, having to pass through rocky ravines and arid mesas, while traveling to Near Vishkai is comparatively simple, requiring a simple boat ride and good weather, something that is relatively common in the Bay of Lotuses.
