Imperial Remaran Senate

The Imperial Remaran Senate (Remaric : Senatus Remarianus Imperialis, abbreviated SRI), was an organization within the Remaran Empire . It functioned as an advisory and administrative body, composed of local warlords who helped the early Remaran emperors maintain their rule in the further reaches of the empire, as well as performing some representative functions. Under Avgus the Great's reforms, however, it was stripped of its representative and military functions, becoming effectively a court bureaucracy fully suborned to the emperor's will. In the aftermath of the Merchant's Rebellion and the military and administrative reforms that it heralded, local warlords were again appointed and some measure of authority was returned. This eventually culminated in the RSI disbanding the Remaran empire following the death of Tibur the Weak in 120 BC.
Under subsequent Occidental empire, where it was the sole governing body, the RSI was renamed the Senatus Remarianus Imperatorius or Senatus Remarianus Imperatorum, in either case meaning "Remaran Senate of Warlords", although it was not uncommon for it to still be referred to as the Imperial Senate.
