Remaric
Remaric was the language spoken in the ancient city of Remara , a human village near the Swamps of Lethe . From there, it spread across most of Occident and even further, becoming the official language of the Remaran Empire . It is the ancestor of Low Remaric .
Writing System
Remaric uses a 23-letter alphabet, referred to as the Remaran Alphabet. Many other languages in the western reaches of the world have adopted this script and use it, with modification.
Phonology
Remaric's phonology is relatively simple, with only two sounds that are particularly exotic: the ph and th. Rather than being pronounced as "f" or "th" in Occidental, they are instead aspirated versions of the initial consonant.
Remaric distinguishes between short and long vowels and consonants.
